COMPREHENSIVE ORAL TEST

Early detection can mean a better response to treatment.

The DNA ConneXions® Comprehensive Oral Test identifies bacteria, viruses, fungi and parasites in removed teeth, blood, tissue, dental implants, bone grafts or other biological samples.

This test identifies the presence of 88 different pathogens, including tetanus, botulism, diphtheria, HPV 16 and HPV 18, Candida albicans and more.

By using PCR – one of the most advanced tools in molecular biology today – the specificity of this test is one in a trillion (or greater), and the sensitivity of the test enables us to detect the DNA of between 1 and 10 microbes.

Available Sampling Methods: Super Floss, Extracted Tooth, Oral Blood, or Paper Points.

The DNA ConneXions® Comprehensive Oral Test

DNA ConneXions® provides Comprehensive Oral Test kits for collecting blood, tissue, teeth, root canals, cavitations, dental implants, bone grafts and paper points.

Our highly absorbent Super Floss is perfect for sample collection at home without the assistance of a medical/dental professional.

A sample of blood extracted from the oral cavity.  This sampling method should only be performed by a licensed dental or medical professional.

A kit to collect a tooth extracted by a trained and licensed dentists.

A kit to collect pre-treatment sampling in a site-specific manner.  This sampling is performed only by a trained and licensed dental or medical professional.

Microbes and DNA

Agarose gels indicate 60 of the microbes that we can identify by their DNA. The brightness of the band indicates a higher amount of the microbe’s DNA that was present in the sample. This brightness gives an idea of how badly the patient is infected with a particular pathogen. The brightest bands represent an overwhelming infection process. The brightness of the band (amount of the microbe), the virulence of the microbe (how deadly it is), and other factors yields a pathogenicity value for each pathogen which indicates which microbe(s) should be targeted for therapy first . The general description, symptoms of infection and current CDC treatment recommendations are included in the report for each microbe.
