Dr. Douglas has recently achieved certification as a High-Complexity Clinical Laboratory Director (HCLD) by the American Board of Bioanalysis, with a specialty in Molecular Diagnostics.
Dr. Douglas has been the Principal Investigator and Laboratory Manager of DNA ConneXions® for over seven years, as well as the Laboratory Manager of BioComp Labs. DNA ConneXions® focuses on bacterial, viral, fungal, and parasitic molecular-based detection assays, where Dr. Douglas’ main focus has been on the research and development of PCR-based assays focusing on oral microbes and Lyme Disease. BioComp Labs, the sister company to DNA ConneXions®, performs a high complexity serum biocompatability assay to determine an individuals overall reactivity levels in response to dental materials.

Dr. Douglas completed her undergraduate studies in Biology at the University of Hawaii at Hilo (UHH) before attending the University of Hawaii at Manoa (UHM), Department of Genetics and Molecular Biology. Her graduate studies focused on the phylogenetic relationships within and between tephritid species, with a sub-study involving the phylogeny of native Hawaiian avian species. She has been a Colorado resident for over 10 years, loves the outdoors, her golden retriever Coolio and 3 cats, Roxy, Misty and CeCe. In her spare time she enjoys scuba diving.
