The DNA ConneXions® Staph and Strep Test Panel detects the presence/absence of three Staphylococcus species and five Streptococcus species, including Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus gordonii, known to be involved in infections ranging from minor conditions to life threatening illnesses.

  • Staphylococcus aureus
  • Staphylococcus epidermis
  • Staphylococcus warneri
  • Streptococcus constellatus
  • Streptococcus gordonii
  • Streptococcus intermedius
  • Streptococcus mitis
  • Streptococcus mutans

Staphylococcus (staph) is a group of bacteria with over 30 species.  A type called Staphylococcus aureus causes most infections.  Staph infections can range from minor skin problems to life-threatening illness  if the bacteria invade deeper into your body, entering your bloodstream, joints, bones, lungs or heart. A growing number of otherwise healthy people are developing life-threatening staph infections.

Streptococcus (strep) are gram-positive aerobic organisms that cause many disorders, including pharyngitis, pneumonia, wound and skin infections, sepsis, and endocarditis. Symptoms vary with the organ infected. In addition to streptococcal pharyngitis (strep throat), certain Streptococcus species are responsible for many cases of pink eye, meningitis, bacterial pneumonia and endocarditis.

Sampling Method:   Super Floss

The DNA ConneXions® Lyme Disease Test identifies four different genes that are found in Borrelia burgdorferi, the most common cause of Lyme disease in the United States, and ten common Lyme disease vector born co-infectors and other organisms including Borrelia recurrentis, Borrelia miyamotoi, Babesia microti, Babesia divergens, Babesia duncani, Bartonella bacilliformis, Ehrlichia chaffeensis, Bartonella henselae, Bartonella quintana, and Anaplasma phagocytophilum.

Positive detection of Lyme co-infectors indicates likely infection with the Lyme spirochete as well.

A positive PCR result from the DNA ConneXions® Lyme Disease Test indicates the presence of DNA from B. burgdorferi and/or other co-infectors. A negative result does not prove a patient is not infected with a tick-borne infection, rather it indicates the absence of detectable Lyme and/or other tick borne co-infections. A patient’s ability to fight the disease, stage of infection, and timing of courses of antibiotics are only some of the factors that may affect the detectability of the spirochetes DNA.

The DNA ConneXions® Lyme Disease Test detects the causative agent of Lyme Disease, Borrelia burgdorferi, in addition to 10 other common vector borne pathogens.

This test utilizes either a Super Floss or Urine sample. Our simple, non-invasive sampling methods makes our Lyme Disease Test easy to take for the WHOLE family. Learn more about our Lyme Disease Test and watch our instructional urine collection sample video here.

What sets DNA ConneXions® Lyme Disease test apart from the other tests on the market?

The DNA ConneXions® assay is a direct testing method designed to detect the DNA of the causative organism(s) itself. Conversely, an immunological based assay is an indirect testing method designed to detect antibodies produced in response to the infection.

Our direct testing method is not dependent on the stage of infection or the patient’s immunological response.

The two samples must be returned together in order to receive the discounted price.
